Mitchell Kline, MD

Dr. Kline is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and the medical director of Kline Dermatology, located on Park Avenue in New York City. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a one-year NIH fellowship in pediatric brain injury research, he continued his training at Penn in Internal Medicine. Dr. Kline then completed a residency at Cornell NYP Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Rockefeller University and completed training as Chief Resident at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cornell with a Mohs certification through the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He received the Melanoma Research Foundation's annual award in 2016. 

 

Dr. Kline is a world-renowned expert in digital technologies for Melanoma and skin cancer screening and prevention. Early development of technologies involving heat map algorithms and spectral imaging analysis complements total body imaging and Dermoscopy, utilizing DERMENGINE, Reflectance Confocal Microscopy, AI Dermasensor, and MoleSafe programs when indicated. 

 

Recognized for 25 consecutive years by Castle and Connolly's "Top Doctors" and appeared on the HBO documentary "Cancer: Urgency to Emergency."  Dr. Kline has given grand rounds at Rockefeller University, lectures at Cornell University, and appeared in dozens of TV network shows magazines, as well as professional publications over a more than three-decade-long career. Dr. Kline wrote The Chapter on Clinical Diagnosis of Melanoma for Harvard's Dr. Martin Mihm.  

 

As he expanded his specialty, Dr. Kline introduced cosmetic treatments, beginning with the earliest IPL devices in the 1990s. He now owns seven lasers, including Fraxel, VBeam, Halo, Moxi, BBL, and ClearV. He believes in correctly proportioning and applying Botox and fillers to create a more youthful and natural appearance.  

 

Dr. Kline has been instrumental in funding the development of Aqneursa for Niemann-Pick pediatric neurodegenerative disease, which is currently being studied for treating Parkinson's and Lewy body disease. Similar involvement earlier supported the nascent DermTech and Caliber ID confocal laser technologies for cancer diagnosis. Dr. Kline is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and consults for various biotech and security enterprises.

 

For 25 years, he traveled the globe for direct patient care. He was instrumental in establishing global healthcare clinics for maternal-fetal healthcare, prevention of transmission of AIDS to unborn children, child trafficking, and victims of torture for the NGO now called Healthright International. 

 

Dr. Kline lives and works year-round in Sag Harbor and NYC, having raised three adult children. As co-owner of Sag Harbor Skin Aesthetics, he can be pulled from his kayak in Peconic estuaries for acute injuries needing surgical care and dermatologic emergencies and to deliver the timely care busy East End patients need. 

 

Known for being highly accessible and responsive via email and text, Dr. Kline believes in thorough evaluations and exams using a whole-patient approach while accommodating his patients' lives and lifestyles to complete the proper, individually tailored screening of medical and cosmetic treatments and procedures.
